ICC Soccer Complex
Home to the
men's and women's soccer teams since 2004, the Itawamba Community
College Soccer Complex gives the Indians and Lady Indians one of
the finest playing surfaces in the MACJC. Located on the west side
of the ICC Fulton campus, the facility is situated near the
College's baseball and football venues. It joins the Davis Event
Center (basketball), Crubaugh Field (baseball), Eaton
Field (football), the softball field and tennis courts to give
Itawamba Community College one of the finest groups of athletic
facilities for a community college not only in Mississippi, but in
the entire southeastern United States.
The soccer
complex features a grandstand area which will accommodate nearly 75
people with opportunities for expansion in the future. There is
also a large shaded area for lawn chair seating on the east side of
the field, which is perfect for those extremely warm early season
showdowns. Also included is a training field that was built in
2007, adjacent to the soccer field, which is a smaller practice
field that is ideal for pre-game warm-ups, especially during the
first game of the doubleheader.
The complex
also includes an electronic scoreboard and a three-story tower
equipped with a video deck for recording games. Hailed by the other
coaches and players in the league as one of the top facilities in
the MACJC, the field stretches 120 yards long, 80 yards wide and
features a tifway 419 hybrid Bermuda grass from Clifton, Georgia,
making it one of the finest playing surfaces in the south. A
grounds crew, supervised by ICC Athletic Fields' Supervisor
Kirk Sheffield, is responsible for the field maintenance of the ICC
Soccer Complex.
The ICC
locker room facilities are located in the Davis Event
Center to give ICC's soccer facilities a championship
feel.
