Makel comes to Itawamba Community College after a highly-decorated career as Tillo the Tiger at Saltillo High School.

She was the beloved Saltillo mascot for four years and won UCA Camp Champ and the Mascot Jump Off winner for four-straight years. Hutchins was also earned the UCA Leadership Award. She was also a member of the Saltillo tennis team.

In the classroom, she was an honor roll student for four years and graduated with special distinction and honors.

Makel is the daughter of Keith and Angie Hutchins.
