Fulton, MS – The Indians turned up the pressure on Gulf Coast in the second half and pulled away for a 5-1 victory on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (4-4-1, 2-1-1 MACCC) took a 1-0 advantage in the 13th minute and held it for a majority of the first half until Samuel Franco (Ecru) tied the match with his first goal of the season coming at the 41st minute.
The Indians (5-2-1, 2-1 MACCC) took a 2-1 advantage when Anthony Jones (Oxford) sent home a header off an assist from Gage Lashlee (Olive Branch) in the 48th minute. Ian Thomas (Southaven) scored back-to-back goals in the 64th and 66th minutes before Christian Holman (Olive Branch) scored the final goal of the day.
Christian Mahan (Southaven) had five saves while allowing one goal in a complete game in net.
The Indians will hit the road to take on Meridian (1-6-1, 0-3 MACCC) on Friday.
