Softball jumps to No. 10 in NJCAA Poll
An 17-4 start to the 2016 season has jumped the Itawamba Community College softball team to No. 10 in the first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II regular season poll of the season.

FULTON, MS – An 17-4 start to the 2016 season has jumped the Itawamba Community College softball team to No. 10 in the first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II regular season poll of the season.
After not receiving votes in the preseason poll, the Indians jumped to its highest ranking ever. In 2014, the Indians finished the regular season 35-10 to earn its previous highest ranking at No. 11 in the final NJCAA poll of the season.
The Indians grabbed the eye of the national office after picking up wins over NJCAA Division I preseason No. 19 Wabash Valley College (IL), No. 20 Jefferson College (MO) and 2014 DI runner-up Lake Land College (IL) while dropping an one-run decision to DII powerhouse LSU-Eunice.
LSU-Eunice jumped from No. 10 in the preseason poll to the top spot after a 24-2 start to the season. Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) members No. 4 Jones County Junior College (14-3), No. 5 East Central Community College (18-3) and No. 7 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (20-2) all earned spots amongst the nation's Top 10 teams.
ICC will be back in action on Friday, March 11 as they travel to Meridian Community College for a conference doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.
