Indians projected to finish third by NJCAA
FULTON, MS – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released their preseason Top 20 and conference projects on Monday.
The Indians are projected to finish third in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division behind defending national champion and preseason No. 1 East Mississippi and No. 11 Northwest Mississippi Community College.
"This league is extremely tough," said ICC head football coach Jon Williams. "Having four teams ranked in the preseason Top 20 proves that you have to be focused and ready to play week in and week out."
Other MACJC teams receiving NJCAA preseason rankings include South Division teams Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at No. 4 and No. 6 Hinds Community College.
The Indians, the No. 27 team in the nation according to JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 Preseason poll, will open the 2012 season on the road against East Central Community College on August 30 and will host Southwest Mississippi Community College on September 6 at 7:00 p.m.
