FULTON, MS – ICC head football coach Jon Williams announced offensive coordinator Jason McManus has stepped down to accept the same position at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
"We are very appreciative of Jason and everything he has helped established as a part of our program over the past two seasons," said Williams. "We wish him the best of luck and will be pulling for him as he begins this new chapter in his life."
Before coming to Fulton, the 13-year coaching veteran's stops included Gardner-Webb, Middle Tennessee State, The University of the South, Tusculum College, UT-Chattanooga, and Troy University.
His last high school coaching stint was as offensive coordinator at York Comprehensive High School in South Carolina. The Cougars finished that season with a 10-4 record and led Region 4-3 and the upstate area in total offense with 2,987 yards rushing and 1,864 yards passing.
The Newton, North Carolina native graduated from Gardner-Webb in 2000 with a degree in Physical Education. He was a two-year letter winner for the Bulldogs then worked as a student assistant coach in the spring of 2000. He earned his master's degree in Physical Education from Middle Tennessee State in 2001. While in Murfreesboro, McManus worked as a graduate assistant coach for the Blue Raiders, assisting with wide receivers, secondary, and special teams.
