FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College sophomore shortstop Tyler Tipton has verbally committed to play baseball for the University of Kentucky after his final season with the Indians.
"Officially a Wildcat! Just committed to play at UK next year," Tipton said via Twitter on Sunday.
The Shelbyville, Kentucky native batted .257 with seven doubles, one home run, 19 RBI and 26 runs scored in 136 at bats. He led the team with 11 stole bases and finished the season with a .367 on-base percentage to help the Indians finish 39-13 and earn a spot in the semifinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 semifinals.
