Baseball moves up to No. 2 in latest NJCAA Poll
The ICC baseball team earned the highest ranking in program’s history as they moved up to No. 2 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II after going 3-1 last week.
FULTON, Miss. – The ICC baseball team earned the highest ranking in program's history as they moved up to No. 2 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II after going 3-1 last week.
Last week the Indians were ranked fifth and started with a tough split with Holmes Community College on the road winning game one 5-3 and dropping game two, 10-3. However, the Tribe answered with a sweep of No. 19 Meridian Community College Saturday with a 5-0 game one victory and a finishing the sweep with a 4-3 game two win.
The Indians (19-3, 5-1 MACJC) entered the season unranked but jumped to No. 7 in the first regular season poll, before falling to No. 8 in week two, and jumping back to No. 5 in week three.
At No. 1 in the polls is NJCAA Region 23 foe LSU-Eunice and the Indians are joined by five other MACJC teams in the current rankings.

Jones County Junior College fell from No. 3 to No. 9 while Hinds Community College jumped into the rankings at No. 14. East Central Community College falls from No. 13 to No. 17 and Pearl River Community College comes in at No. 18. Mississippi Gulf Coast rounds out the rankings at No. 20.
The Indians won't get much time to enjoy the high ranking as the next three dates include games with No. 18 Pearl River, rival Northeast Mississippi Community College and No. 9 Jones County.
After having the bye early this week, the Indians will return to action at Pearl River Friday with first pitch set for 2 p.m. in Poplarville.
