Freshman pitcher Jud Files of Mooreville has been named a Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American, as announced by the NJCAA Division II Baseball Committee.
FULTON, Miss. – Freshman pitcher Jud Files of Mooreville has been named a Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American, as announced by the NJCAA Division II Baseball Committee.
A transfer from Mississippi State University, Files made an immediate impact in his lone season with the Indians. The right-hander appeared in 14 games, had 11 starts and compiled a 9-2 record over 69.2 innings pitched. He allowed just 55 hits and 25 earned runs while striking out 108 batters, averaging nearly 14 strikeouts per nine innings. Files finished the season with a 3.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP.
His 108 strikeouts set a new modern-era single-season program record at ICC.
Files will continue his collegiate baseball career next season at Jacksonville State University.
