East Central got on the board in the first on a solo home run, then added another run before the inning ended. The Warriors struck again with another solo shot in the third to make it 3-0.
The Indians had one of their better chances in the second when Cannon Graham singled and Jack Cummings followed with a single to put runners at first and third with one out but the inning ended on a double play at the plate. ICC threatened again in the sixth when Daniel Whitfield singled and moved to third and Madden Butler followed with a two-out single but a pop out kept the Indians off the board.
East Central kept finding timely swings. A two-out RBI single in the sixth, then the Warriors added three more in the seventh. That inning included a two-out single that brought home two runs, one of them scoring on a throwing error, and another two-out RBI single. In all, East Central scored five runs with two outs.
The Warriors turned an error into a run in the sixth, then added to the margin in the seventh during an inning that also included a pair of errors by the Indians.
ICC finally broke through in the eighth when Brody Thompson hit a solo home run to left, his 13th of the season.
The loss closed the season for the Indians, who had carried strong momentum into the postseason after winning 10 of 11 at one point, including wins over ranked teams and a sweep of No. 4 Jones, who won the Pearl River bracket championship.
