FULTON, MS – Sophomore running back Octavious Matthews committed to the Auburn football program over the weekend.
Matthews, who is rated the nation's No. 1 junior college running back, rushed for 808 yards and 4 touchdowns on 94 carries while hauling in 13 catches for 147 yards a 2 touchdowns. He also returned 3 kickoffs for 111 yards for 1,066 all-purpose yards as a freshman.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Stevenson, Alabama native originally committed to University of Louisville in April but flipped his commitment to the Tigers after decommitting from the Cardinals on Sunday.
The 247Sports three-star prospect also drew offers from Mississippi State University and the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Matthews is the second Indian to commit to a SEC program joining sophomore defensive tackle Lee Autry (Albermarle, NC) who committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs earlier this summer.
