Orel Gray and
Eli Burciaga have both earned Player of the Week honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
Gray, a sophomore defensive back from Jacksonville, Fla., earned MACCC Defensive Player of the Week honors after making two pivotal plays in ICC's 23-14 road win at East Central on Thursday. He tallied two tackles, including a sack, forced and recovered a fumble and sealed the night with an interception after tipping a pass to himself.
Burciaga, a sophomore kicker from Corinth, was named MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week after turning in a perfect performance. He went 3-for-3 on field goals (22, 28 and 36) and 2-for-2 on extra points, finishing with 11 total points.
The Indians return home on Thursday, Sept. 18, to open conference play against No. 12 East Mississippi. The game will also be All-American Heroes Night at Eaton Field.
