Chance Lovertich

Chance Lovertich joined the Itawamba Community College football staff in 2025 as Offensive Coordinator, working with quarterbacks and running backs. Despite being early in his coaching career, he has already made an impact at the collegiate level. At Holmes Community College, Lovertich coached the quarterbacks who led the nation in passing yards per game (344.7) and helped develop two players who advanced to the next level, Lonnie Ratliff (Mercer) and NyJal Johnson (Lane). He also gained experience at Southern Miss as an assistant wide receivers coach.

A standout player himself, Lovertich starred at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors and helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2019 NJCAA National Championship with a perfect 12-0 record. Over his JUCO career, he set multiple school records, led the NJCAA in passing efficiency, and earned both all-region and academic honors. He went on to play at Mississippi State, where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2021.

Before his college career, Lovertich was a multi-sport athlete at Jackson Prep, lettering in football, baseball, and soccer. He set school records for career and single-game touchdown passes while leading the Patriots to a 39-1 record and three straight MAIS state championships. He was named a MaxPreps Medium Schools All-American and earned multiple all-state honors as both a quarterback and punter.

Lovertich is married to Macey Lovertich. He is the son of Trey and Lynn Lovertich and has one brother, Trace. His grandfather, Doug Hutton, was a multi-sport letterman at Mississippi State (1960-64) and is a member of both the MSU and Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
