BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Indians secured its third straight victory Saturday defeating Lawson State Community College 71-64 on the road.
ICC (4-3) jumped out to an early 36-29 lead at the half and maintained control throughout the second period, matching the Cougars' 35 points to earn the seven-point decision.
Damarion Winston led the offensive effort for ICC, scoring a game-high 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including two three-pointers and grabbing seven rebounds.
Shomari Philip provided a spark off the bench, tallying 16 points and connecting on three of six free throw attempts. Tim Holiday also contributed 16 points off the bench.
The Indians shot 42.6 percent from the field and capitalized on opportunities at the free throw line, converting 20 of 29 attempts. Lawson State (2-4) was held to 33.8 percent shooting for the game.
ICC will be back in action when they travel to Booneville to take on rival Northeast in a non-conference matchup on Monday.
