ICC (14-6, 5-1 MACCC) led 38-33 at the break and came out with Davis in attack mode. He scored twice in the opening two minutes to push the margin to 42-35, then knocked down a 3-pointer at the 17:00 mark to make it 47-41 when the Wildcats (11-9, 3-2 MACCC) tried to tighten it.
Pearl River's best push came in the middle of the half, pulling within 49-48 with 13:14 remaining. Davis supplied the response. He buried back-to-back 3-pointers to stretch the lead to 61-53, and the Indians kept adding to it with finishes inside from Kyler Fox and a timely bucket from Tim Holliday.
The Wildcats had one last look when they trimmed the gap to 70-62, but the Indians stayed poised. Davis and Damarion Winston answered the late rally, and ICC sealed the final minute at the free-throw line to close out the 11-point win.
Davis finished 13 of 21 from the field, 4 of 6 from 3-point range and 4 of 4 at the free-throw line. Winston added 13 points and six rebounds, going 6 of 6 at the line. Fox was perfect from the field at 4 of 4 for 10 points with five rebounds and two blocks.
The Indians will play their third game in five days after winter weather pushed the Pearl River game to Saturday. ICC heads back on the road Monday to face No. 15 Jones College (17-5, 6-0 MACCC).
