FULTON, Miss. - Postseason basketball is down to the final four, and both Itawamba Community College teams are still standing.
The No. 2 seeded Lady Indians (22-7) punched their ticket to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament with a 71-44 win over No. 10 seed Copiah-Lincoln (15-12) on Saturday in Fulton. ICC will now meet No. 3 seed Northwest (21-8) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. with a spot in Friday's championship game on the line.
The winner of that matchup will advance to face either No. 1 seed Pearl River (21-5) or No. 4 seed Gulf Coast (18-6) in the title game.
The semifinal trip brings ICC back into a familiar postseason position. The Lady Indians are the defending NJCAA Region 23 champions and will now get another shot at Northwest after falling 56-52 at Senatobia in January.
On the men's side, No. 25 ICC (23-6) kept rolling with an 82-66 win over No. 9 seed Southern Shreveport (18-11) to advance to the semifinal round and earn the right to host the remainder of the men's regional tournament Tuesday and Thursday at the Davis Event Center.
The top-seeded Indians will face No. 12 seed Hinds (18-14) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Hinds entered the field as the final team in the tournament, then made the most of its opportunity with back-to-back upset road wins over No. 5 seed Holmes (20-8), 67-58, and No. 4 seed Gulf Coast (23-7), 104-101 in overtime, to reach the semifinals.
The other men's semifinal will feature No. 2 seed Southwest (17-14) and No. 3 seed Jones (22-9) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the winners meeting in Thursday's championship game.
Day passes for the men's regional tournament are $10. All games will be streamed on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
