Fulton, Miss. – With the naming of a new head golf coach, Itawamba Community College has begun preparations for the upcoming season.
ICC hired Scott Milam to lead its golf program, and Fulton won't be anything new for him since he played for ICC under Coach David Rather in 2011-12. The Tupelo native went on to play for Blue Mountain College, where he earned NAIA All-American honors in 2015.
Coach Milam and his squad have begun practicing and will compete in their first tournament on Sept. 21 in the NJCAA District D Preview at the Deerfield in Canton.
The Indians will then have two tournaments in the same week, competing in the Northeast Invitational, Sept. 28-29, at Shiloh Ridge in Corinth, and then the Hinds Invitational, Oct. 3-4, at Eagle Ridge in Raymond.
To wrap up the fall portion of their schedule, the Indians will play in the MACCC Preview at Wolf Hollow in Wesson on Oct. 26.
The Indians will kick off their spring schedule Feb. 22-23 in the Gulf Coast Invitational at Windance in Gulfport.
March will be a busy month for the Tribe with three tournaments on the road. March 5-6, the Indians will return to Wolf Hollow for the Co-Lin Invitational and then will compete in the Meridian Invitational, March 22-23, at Northwood.
To finish the regular season and March play, the Indians will travel to Summit for the Southwest Invitational at Quail Hollow on the 29-30.
The Indians will compete in the conference championship at Wolf Hollow, April 18-19.
