King Leads Indians in Season-Opening Tournament
The Itawamba Community College men’s golf team opened the season at the Tiger Invitational at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club, finishing ninth with a combined team score of 603 (+27).
CORINTH – The Itawamba Community College men's golf team opened the season at the Tiger Invitational at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club, finishing ninth with a combined team score of 603 (+27).
Max King led the Indians, finishing tied for 17th at even par (144). He opened with a 76 (+4) and followed with a 68 (-4), posting 34 on both the front and back nines in round two.
Malone Richardson tied for 37th at 152 (+8), shooting 76 in both rounds with identical front and back nine scores of 38.
Katch Edge tied for 45th at 155 (+11), improving from a 79 (+7) in round one to a 76 (+4) in round two.
Harvey Taylor finished tied for 49th at 156 (+12), rebounding from an 84 (+12) opening round to an even-par 72 in round two.
Brooks McLemore rounded out the scoring, tying for 57th at 161 (+17) with rounds of 80 and 81.
Meridian captured the team title with a 555 (-21), while Ayers Mathis earned individual medalist honors at 133 (-11) over two rounds for the Eagles.
The Indians return to action October 6-7 at the Jim Redgate Invitational at Briarwood Country Club in Meridian.
