Harvey Taylor has signed to continue his career at the University of Mobile.
FULTON, Miss. – Harvey Taylor has signed to continue his career at the University of Mobile.
Taylor said the relationship he built with the coaching staff and the program's facilities made the decision an easy one.
"I had a few conversations with the coach, and we got along really well," Taylor said. "The facilities they provide are just next level, and I can't wait to get out there and start playing."
After spending one season at ICC, Taylor believes his time with the Indians helped elevate every aspect of his game.
"I think playing at ICC this year has been a massive improvement for my game," Taylor said. "Coach Boggs and I got along really well, and he's helped me not only with my golf game, but also with the mental side of golf and staying level-headed after a bad hole."
ICC head golf coach Taylor Boggs said he is excited to see Taylor continue his career at the next level.
"I'm super pumped for Harvey," Boggs said. "He's done great things in his one year here, and I think Mobile is going to be a great fit for him. I believe the best golf for Harvey is still ahead of him, and I hope he can take what he learned here at ICC and continue building on it as both a golfer and a person."
Boggs also praised Taylor's work ethic and leadership during his lone season with the program.
"He's kind of the glue guy on the team," Boggs said. "He does the right things on and off the course and is one of the hardest workers we've had. He's never satisfied with his score because he knows he can continue improving every facet of his game. I was very appreciative of Harvey coming here this year."
Taylor joins the Rams that are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
