Fulton, Miss. – In what could be a preview things to come this postseason, the conference's two division leaders battled and saw No. 4 Pearl River pick up a 2-0 win.
The game was a back and forth affair from the beginning, but the Indians (6-3, 4-0 MACCC North) fell behind when Pearl River scored off a corner opportunity at the 26th minute.
Pearl River added a goal at the 70th minute on what appeared to be an uncalled offsides, but the 2-0 lead held and propelled the Wildcats to the win, snapping the Indians five game win streak.
The Indians will hit the road for their next game Tuesday as they take on another nationally ranked opponent in No. 17 Meridian. Opening kick is scheduled for 5 p.m.
