Sullivan Inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame
Mike Sullivan retired in 2022 after 20 seasons as ICC’s men’s head soccer coach, closing out a record-setting career as the program’s all-time winningest coach with a 215-208-32 record.
FULTON, Miss. - Mike Sullivan retired in 2022 after 20 seasons as ICC's men's head soccer coach, closing out a record-setting career as the program's all-time winningest coach with a 215-208-32 record.
Sullivan also led the ICC women's soccer program for eight seasons (2007–14), helping guide the Lady Indians to their first and only North Division championship in 2007.
Under Sullivan's leadership, ICC men's soccer captured five North Division titles (2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2021) and made 10 playoff appearances. He coached in the 2015 MACJC All-Star Game and saw over 200 of his players earn conference and national academic honors. More than 50 were named All-State, 20 earned All-Region recognition, three received NJCAA Region 23 Player of the Year honors, and one achieved NJCAA All-American status. His 2013 and 2014 teams were named NJCAA Men's Soccer Academic Teams of the Year.
Sullivan's career also includes the distinction of being the first person to both play and coach in the Mississippi High School Athletic Association Soccer All-Star Game. A former Mississippi State club soccer player, he remains a respected figure in Mississippi soccer circles.
He and his wife, Tammy, have four children: Shannon Gillentine, Brittany Pate, Hayden, and Ty Wilkerson.
