SENATOBIA, MS –No. 19 Itawamba Community College extended its current win streak to seven on Thursday with a 9-0 victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College.
The Indians (7-2) started the day with a clean sweep in doubles and followed with a dominating performance in singles.
Nathaniel Pinkney (Southaven) and Cody Coins (Millington, TN) picked up an 8-1 doubles win and the duo of Mark Robbins (New Albany) and Joseph Summers (Amory) followed suit with an 8-1 win of their own.
The team of Austin McElwain (Corinth) and David McElwain (West Point) finished the sweep of doubles with an 8-4 win.
Four Indians picked up 6-1, 6-0 victories in singles action while Coins picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win and David McElwain finished the shutout day with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
The 9-0 win over Northwest is the Indians third consecutive shutout performance.
The Indians return home for a showdown the nationally ranked Meridian Eagles Wednesday at 2 p.m.
