Moreira inks with Alabama A&M
2024 Itawamba Community College graduate Tasso Moreira of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has signed to continue his tennis career at Alabama A&M University.
FULTON, Miss. – 2024 Itawamba Community College graduate Tasso Moreira of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has signed to continue his tennis career at Alabama A&M University.
Moreira helped the Indians to a historic 2024 season during which they posted 10-4 overall and 8-2 conference records and making an appearance in the NJCAA Region 23 Championship Match and finishing 13th in the NJCAA National DI Tennis Tournament.
During the national tournament, Moreira advanced to the championship bracket quarterfinals of the Flight 1 Singles. He ranked No. 18 among the nation's best Singles players in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I rankings and was also named to the All-MACCC Men's Tennis Team after his performance in the Region 23 Tournament.
Moreira's new Bulldogs team, which competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I member.
