The No. 19 Indians picked up a 7-2 road victory over No. 25 Hinds on Tuesday.
RAYMOND, Miss. – The No. 19 Indians picked up a 7-2 road victory over No. 25 Hinds on Tuesday.
In doubles play, the Indians claimed two of three courts to take an early 2-1 advantage. At No. 1, Andrea Cattaneo and Josue Segrelles Tronchoni edged Pablo De Haro Esteban and Jaume Socias Capella in a 9-8 decision. Andrej Tasevski and Kole Kusek delivered an 8-2 victory at No. 2 over Stanley Yang and Miguel Beltran Lopez. Hinds picked up their doubles point at No. 3, where Matthew Durrett and Jacob Christ fell, 8-5.
The Indians carried the momentum into singles action, winning five of six courts to seal the team victory.
At No. 2, Josue Segrelles Tronchoni battled through a three-set match, dropping the opening set in a tiebreak before rallying for a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 win. Tasevski followed with another comeback performance at No. 3, rebounding from a first-set loss to claim a 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 decision.
Kusek was dominant at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep, while Durrett secured a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 5. Christ rounded out singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6. Cattaneo dropped a 7-6, 6-0 decision at No. 1.
