MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Indians dropped a 9-0 decision against Coastal Alabama-South, battling through several tightly contested matches despite the final score.
In doubles play, Coastal Alabama-South claimed all three courts to take an early 3-0 lead. At No. 1, Andrea Cattaneo and Josue Segrelles Tronchoni fell 8-4 to David Gimenez and Alvaro Velasco. Andrej Tasevski and Kole Kusek pushed their opponents at No. 2 but came up just short in a 9-7 decision against Nils Guyot and Milan Olagnon. Matthew Durrett and Christ Jacob rounded out doubles action with an 8-4 loss at No. 3.
The Indians continued to compete in singles, highlighted by a pair of three-set super tiebreakers. At No. 1, Cattaneo fell to Julien Cordeau in a 4-6, 6-2, [10-7] decision. Tasevski dropped No. 3 to Olagnon by a 2-6, 6-0, [10-2] score.
Segrelles Tronchoni dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 2, while Kusek (6-1, 6-0), Durrett (6-0, 6-0), and Jacob (6-3, 6-2) fell at Courts 4, 5 and 6, respectively.
