FULTON, Miss. – The No. 19 Indians dropped a narrow 5-4 decision against No. 14 Bevill State at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Monday.
In doubles play, ICC claimed one of the three matches. At No. 1, Andrea Cattaneo and Josue Segrelles Tronchoni secured an 8-6 victory. Bevill State answered with an 8-3 win at No. 2 over Kole Kusek and Andrej Tasevski. Jacob Christ and Matthew Durrett dropped No. 3 by default.
In singles action, the Indians responded with strong performances on three courts. Cattaneo earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 1, while Segrelles Tronchoni delivered a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2. Kusek was dominant at No. 4, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Bevill State secured the team victory by taking the remaining singles matches. Andrej Tasevski fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3, and Christ dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 5. The match at No. 6 went to Bevill State by walkover.
