No. 19 Indians fall 6-3 to No. 23 Southwest

FULTON, Miss. – The 19th-ranked Indians dropped a 6-3 match against 23rd-ranked Southwest at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Friday.
In doubles play, ICC picked up one of the three matches to earn an early point. At No. 1, Andrea Cattaneo and Josue Segrelles Tronchoni secured an 8-4 victory over Juan Luca Cividini and Juan Manuel Riano Cifuentes. Southwest answered with an 8-4 win at No. 2 against Andrej Tasevski and Kole Kusek, while the No. 3 match featuring Matthew Durrett and Jacob Christ went to Southwest by default.
In singles action, the Indians claimed two courts but couldn't close the gap. Segrelles Tronchoni earned a strong 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2, while Kusek was impressive in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4.
Southwest secured the team win by taking the remaining singles matches. Cattaneo dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 1, and Tasevski fell in a three-set battle at No. 3, 6-7, 6-4, 6-0. Christ pushed his match to a third-set tiebreak at No. 5 but came up short, 1-6, 6-3, [10-4]. The No. 6 match went to Southwest by default.
