Madison Jenkins named MACCC Pitcher of the Week
Itawamba Community College's Madison Jenkins has been named Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for her performance last week.
Jackson, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's Madison Jenkins has been named Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for her performance last week.
The freshman right hander went 3-0 last week as the No. 6 Indians swept all three of their opponents. She struck out 13, walked one and gave up two earned runs while allowing only 9 hits in 15 innings of work.
In the 9-1 road win over Mississippi Delta, the Cleveland native allowed 3 hits, one run and struck out six in six innings. The following day, Jenkins threw four innings and allowed three hits and one run while striking out six again in the 18-2 run-rule victory over East Mississippi.
Jenkins finished her week throwing five innings and allowing three hits and striking out one in the Indians 3-1 win over East Central.
The Indians are scheduled to host No. 3 Co-Lin Saturday for a conference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. in Fulton.
