ICC’s Kara Hays earns NFCA All-American honor
Kara Hays was named to the NFCA All-American Second Team as a catcher.
Fulton, Miss. – The postseason honors continue to roll in for Itawamba Community College sophomore Kara Hays as she earned a Second Team All-American honor by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Friday.
The Mooreville native was selected to the NFCA All-South Region Second Team earlier this week and she earned her all-conference honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) in May.
Hays led the Indians in RBI (48), doubles (14) and triples (6) and was second on the team with a .377 batting average. She also scored 44 runs, hit a two home runs and stole 20 bases on 20 attempts.
Defensively, Hays, who had a .965 fielding percentage, recorded 93 putouts, 74 assists and eight double plays as the Indians starting catcher.
