PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. – No. 12 ICC kept rolling Saturday, turning steady pressure into a five-inning, 8-0 run-rule win over Andrew College in the third game of the Visit Panama City Beach JUCO Softball Showdown.
The Indians (5-0) broke through first in the bottom of the opening inning. With two outs, Zoe Goodman punched a single through to bring home Maddie Porter for a 1-0 lead that never left.
ICC stretched it with three-run bursts in both the third and fourth.
In the third, Macie Starling lifted a sacrifice fly to score Morgan Green. Alana Dossey, running for Alanee Wheeler after a walk, stole second and came home on Goodman's single to left. Goodman later scored when Campbell Guin reached on an error, pushing the margin to 4-0.
The fourth had the same feel, then a bigger finish. Green scored on a passed ball, and Starling turned the inning into a separator with a two-run homer to left to make it 7-0.
ICC ended it in the bottom of the fifth. Houston-Rae Grantham opened the frame with a double to left and scored when Fisher Short reached on an infield single to trigger the run rule.
Ashlynn Dabb (1-0) made it stand up, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing three hits, striking out six, and walking none. Starling drove in three runs, Goodman went 2-for-3, and the Indians scored eight runs on six hits to stay unbeaten.
