Meeks Spins No-Hit Gem, Earns MACCC Pitcher of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – When Lizzie Meeks is on, the box score gets quiet in a hurry. The sophomore was named MACCC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, after stacking two statement outings that set the tone for the Indians in the circle.
First came the exclamation point: a complete-game no-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Calhoun. Meeks followed it by shutting the door again at the Turf Wars Invitational, working 4.2 scoreless innings against No. 12 Chattanooga State (DI), allowing just three hits and punching out six in another 4-1 victory.
No. 12 ICC is back home Thursday, Feb. 19, hosting Bevill State for a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Andy Kirk Field.
