FULTON, Miss. – Ramsey Montgomery continues to make a name for herself, this time on the national stage.
The sophomore pitcher has been named the NJCAA Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week after delivering another dominant stretch in the circle for the Indians.
Montgomery turned in two standout performances last week, beginning with a commanding outing in ICC's 6-1 game one victory over Mississippi Delta. She was nearly untouchable, striking out 10 batters while allowing just two hits and one run, keeping hitters off balance from start to finish.
She followed that performance with an even more impressive showing in a 4-0 win over Meridian. Montgomery recorded 14 strikeouts while surrendering just two hits in a complete-game shutout, showcasing her ability to dominate deep into games and control every aspect of the contest.
Through this recent stretch, Montgomery has established herself as one of the most dominant pitchers in the country, as she currently leads the NJCAA with 124 strikeouts.
In addition to her national recognition, Montgomery was also named the MACCC Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week.
No. 11 ICC will be back in action on Wednesday, March 18, as they continue conference play with a road doubleheader at Northwest, starting at 3 p.m.
