Marlar’s Walk-Off Heroics Earn MACCC Player of the Week
AB Marlar has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Softball Player of the Week.
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College first baseman AB Marlar has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Softball Player of the Week, the MACCC announced Tuesday.
Marlar delivered one of the most memorable moments of the season against then-No. 1 Pearl River. The Kossuth native launched a walk-off three-run home run in game one, lifting the Indians to a 4-1 victory and securing a signature win over the nation's top-ranked team.
The clutch blast highlighted an impressive week at the plate for Marlar. She totaled two home runs and eight runs batted in while drawing three walks and striking out just once in 11 at-bats. She finished the week with a .500 on-base percentage and a .909 slugging percentage.
On the season, Marlar leads the Indians offensively, batting .439 with 40 runs batted in and 13 home runs.
No. 13 ICC will be back in action on Tuesday, April 7, when they travel to Clarksdale to take on Coahoma for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
