"We played some of the best softball we have played for 13.2 innings," said Coach Carson Owens. "We have to keep learning and growing and finding ways to finish. We will be better because of these two games. I think we have been in every situation we can be in, so I hope we keep learning from that."
Up next, the Indians will host East Central for Sophoomore Day on Saturday.
"East Central is a very good team," said Owens. "It will be an exciting day as we celebrate our sophomores and everything they mean to our program. These games are important because we know what we are fighting for. Every game matters in this league, especially at the end of the season. Our team knows what our goals are and what we are fighting for, so I hope we come ready to compete for it Saturday.
Game 1 of the doubleheader was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. but has been moved to a noon start with Sophomore Day starting before the Guaranty Bank opening pitch. The games will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
