Indians Remain No. 14 in Latest NJCAA Poll

FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College softball team kept its spot at No. 14 in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Top 25 Rankings, the NJCAA announced Monday.
The Indians opened the week by splitting a doubleheader with No. 20 Northeast, earning a 2-0 victory in game one before falling 4-3 in game two. ICC closed the week with another split against East Central on Sophomore Day, claiming a 9-6 win in the opener before dropping the finale, 2-1.
At the plate, AB Marlar leads the Indians with a .425 batting average, followed by Ella Duhon at .333. Taylar Shands has driven in a team-high 44 runs, while Marlar also paces the team with 13 home runs this season.
In the circle, Ramsey Montgomery holds a 1.69 ERA with 189 strikeouts. Lizzie Meeks owns a 2.30 ERA, leads the team with 14 wins, and has recorded 118 strikeouts. Montgomery follows closely with 13 victories.
No. 14 ICC returns to action Tuesday, April 21, as they travel to Goodman for a doubleheader against Holmes, starting at 4 p.m.
