FULTON, MS – Every player put points on the board with four scoring in double figures as the Lady Indians stayed in control of the North with an 82-45 win over Coahoma Community College on Monday.
"We started the game really well and I feel like that gave us a lot of confidence that carried over throughout the entire game," said ICC head coach Nanci Gray. "We played with a lot of energy and effort on defense that really made good things happen for us. Hopefully the girls will see that and give that same kind of effort every time we take the floor."
Sophomores Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) and Ayanna Lynn (Indianola) each scored a game-high 14 points while freshman Leslie Robinson (Belmont) scored 12 with sophomore Jasmine Hampton (Bruce) adding 11 points in the win.
"A lot of players got the chance to play and that was big for us as well," Gray commented. "It gave us the opportunity to get some in-game experience for some of the girls while giving some of the others a chance to rest."
Hampton and sophomore Ashley Wiley (Jackson) grabbed a game-high seven rebounds in the win while Robinson dished out a game-high six assists.
