FULTON, MS – Sophomore guard Jayla Chills has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Women's Player of the Week when the league announced its weekly awards on Wednesday.
The Ripley native scored a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds in the Lady Indians' 79-73 loss to Jones County Junior College. Chills went 7-of-16 from the floor, including going 1-for-2 from three and went from 7-of-9 from free throw line while adding five assists, one steal, and one blocked shot.
Chills will be eligible for National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Player of the Week honors.
The Lady Indians (3-1) will host Meridian Community College Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
