Lady Indians ranked No. 22 in NJCAA Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll
The Itawamba Community College Lady Indians will open the 2025-26 season with national recognition, earning the No. 22 spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Basketball Preseason Rankings, the NJCAA announced Monday.
FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College Lady Indians will open the 2025-26 season with national recognition, earning the No. 22 spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Women's Basketball Preseason Rankings, the NJCAA announced Monday.
The Lady Indians are coming off a historic 2024-25 season in which they posted a 25-6 overall record and a 12-2 mark in Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) play, while also claiming the Region 23 Championship and a berth to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament
Under the direction of seventh-year head coach Robin Porter, ICC returns a talented roster highlighted by Starkville native Tootie Lockett, who was named the MACCC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year after averaging 12.7 points per game last season.
The 22nd-ranked Lady Indians will tip off the 2025-26 season on Monday, Nov. 3, hosting Lawson State at 5:30 p.m. inside the Davis Event Center.
