Fulton, Miss. — The No. 22 Lady Indians came up just short in a 71–68 loss to Lawson.
Tootie Lockett led the Indians with 23 points, adding four rebounds, while I'Xana Winters chipped in 10 points and six boards. Kinsley James contributed 10 points on 2-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc, and Emarie Boddie added eight rebounds and five points.
The Lady Indians closed the fourth quarter with a 22-point effort and made it a 3-point game with 11.5 second left in the game but Lawson was able to run out the clock and escape with the three-point win.
The Lady Indians will be on the road Thursday to face No. 2 Shelton State.
