FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians used a balanced attack to secure a 56-46 victory over Calhoun.
The Lady Indians jumped out to an early lead, scoring 15 points in the opening quarter to take control of the pace. Calhoun managed to keep the game close in the second quarter, but Itawamba maintained a slim advantage at halftime, leading 28-24.
They extended their lead in the third quarter, then relied on defensive stops to fend off Calhoun in the final period. The Lady Indians shot 47 percent from the field and capitalized on free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
ICC was anchored by I'Xana Winters, who scored 14 points while adding three assists and three rebounds. Tootie Lockett contributed 11 points and seven assists. Chloe Chism added 12 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Indians will be back in action when they travel to Lawson State on Saturday.
