FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians took control early and never looked back, rolling past East Mississippi, 78-46, in non-conference play on Thursday.
The Lady Indians (9-5) set the tone from the jump, holding the Lady Lions (3-8) to eight points in the first quarter and carrying a 38-14 lead into halftime. ICC kept the pressure on after the break, winning every quarter and turning consistent stops into steady offense on the other end.
Tootie Lockett was the engine. Lockett finished with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, hauled in 10 rebounds and added five assists.
The bench brought the juice. Starr Amos poured in 13 points in just eight minutes. Carlie Brock added 12 points and filled up the stat sheet with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block to give the Lady Indians a two-way spark whenever they needed it.
I'Xana Winters delivered the knockout punches from deep. Winters knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 12 points while adding three assists and two steals..
Emarie Boddie did the dirty work. Boddie pulled down 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass, and scored nine points.
The Lady Indians will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Clarksdale to open conference play at Coahoma.
