FULTON, Miss. – The Lady Indians put together its most complete home performance in weeks Thursday, using a fast start, a big third quarter, and a closing surge to pull away from Copiah-Lincoln for a 66-45 win.
ICC set the tone early by holding Co-Lin to six points in the opening quarter and taking a 12-6 lead. The Lady Indians stayed in control through the second, then delivered the separating stretch coming out of halftime. ICC scored 21 points in the third quarter, matching Co-Lin's best stretch shot for shot and carrying a 49-39 advantage into the fourth.
That is where the Lady Indians slammed the door.
ICC locked in defensively and held Co-Lin to six points in the final quarter while finishing with 17 of its own to turn a competitive game into a comfortable win.
Tootie Lockett and Kinsley James led the way with 13 points apiece. Lockett filled the stat sheet, adding 10 rebounds and five assists while going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line. James gave ICC a perimeter spark, hitting 3-of-5 from three. Chloe Chism provided a major lift off the bench with 10 points, knocking down four threes.
Briyana Turner controlled the paint with 13 rebounds, two steals, and a block, helping ICC finish with 46 rebounds
