FULTON, Miss. - Tied at 8-8 early, the Lady Indians broke the game open with a 20-0 run and never looked back, rolling past Co-Lin 71-44 in the NJCAA Region 23 Quarterfinals.
That burst turned a tight opening stretch into complete control for the Lady Indians, who closed the first quarter with a 20-8 lead and carried a 39-22 advantage into halftime. ICC stayed in command the rest of the way and outscored Co-Lin in every quarter.
I'Xana Winters led the Lady Indians with 19 points, while Tootie Lockett finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Briyana Turner added 16 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
With the win, the Lady Indians advance to the semifinals of the Region 23 Tournament at Pearl River and will face Northwest at 5:30 p.m.
