Jamilah Sanders
Assistant Basketball Coach

Jamilah Sanders joined the Itawamba Community College women’s basketball staff in 2023 and helped guide the program to back-to-back postseason runs, including a Final Four appearance in the MACCC Region 23 Tournament during her first season and a Region 23 Championship in 2024-25.

Before arriving at ICC, Sanders spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Southern Arkansas University, where the team earned a Top 10 national ranking in NCAA Division II and made a Great American Conference Tournament appearance.

A decorated player, Sanders was a member of Canton High School’s 2013 MHSAA 5A State Championship team and earned All-Star Game honors. At Copiah-Lincoln Community College, she helped lead the Lady Wolves to a MACCC Championship (2014-15) and an NJCAA Region 23 Tournament runner-up finish (2015-16). She closed her playing career at Mississippi College, where she was named Team MVP in 2018-19.

Sanders earned her associate degree from Copiah-Lincoln in 2016, her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Mississippi College in 2020, and her master’s degree in kinesiology coaching in 2022. She is the daughter of Tiffany Simpson and the oldest of eight siblings.
