FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College women's soccer program announced Wednesday it signed 10 student-athletes to national letters of intent to play for Coach Mike Sullivan and the Lady Indians in the fall of 2014.
"The girls just missed out of the playoffs last season and we are aiming to get back in the playoffs this season," said Sullivan. "I feel like with the experience we have coming back and the talented freshman class we are bringing that we can make a strong push towards making a run towards postseason play."
Members of the 2014 ICC signing class include: defender Karlee Grisham (Pontotoc), midfielder Rebekah Miller (Pontotoc), keeper Abby Westmoreland (Saltillo), forward Hannah Anderson (New Albany), midfielder Megan Moorhead (Starkville), midfielder Noa Hardin (Starkville), forward Rachel Stukenborg (Becker), defender Macy Aycock (Olive Branch), defender Haley Merrell (Olive Branch), and keeper Taylor Kidder (Ethelsville, AL).
"We've got a good mix of experienced freshman joining our nine returning sophomores," said Coach Cody Carson. "Two of them completed in Regionals this summer with their club team, a pair of teammates that finished runner-up in the 6A North Half finals, and two more that advanced to the 4A State Championship match. We are expecting a lot of this freshman class this season."
The Lady Indians, along with the defending North Division Champion Indians, will open the season with an extremely tough road test against traditional MACJC South Division power Pearl River Community College (Aug. 19) and will follow with a pair of home matches against South Division juggernauts Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (Aug. 22) and Jones County Junior College (Aug. 26).

"We start off the season with a lot of hard non-division games," commented Sullivan. "It will give us a good idea of what we're going to have and hopefully help us see where we need to be to compete and hopefully get back in the playoffs this season."
ICC will jump into the heart of MACJC North Division play against division rival Northwest Mississippi Community College (Sept. 5), at East Central Community College (Sept. 9), Holmes Community College (Sept. 12), and Hinds Community College (Sept. 19).
The Lady Indians will play a pair of friendly matches at Faulkner University (Sept. 23) and will host Bethel University (Oct. 24) for Sophomore Appreciation.
