Lady Indians hang tough with No. 4 Holmes
For the second time this season, the Lady Indians gave a nationally ranked opponent all they wanted and then some. This time around, it was in the form a deceptive 3-0 loss to No. 4 Holmes.

FULTON, Miss. – For the second time this season, the Lady Indians gave a nationally ranked opponent all they wanted and then some. This time around, it was in the form a deceptive 3-0 loss to No. 4 Holmes in their Breast Cancer Awareness game.
The Lady Bulldogs (14-0-1, 8-0-1 MACCC) scored in the first minute of the match to take an early 1-0 advantage, but the Lady Indians (7-7-0, 3-5-0 MACCC) defense clamped down and kept it a one-goal match at the break.
The Lady Indians continued to battle and had a chance at a pair of equalizers early in the second half against a Lady Bulldogs defense that had only allowed three goals on the season. Holmes took a 2-0 lead in the 69th minute of the match. The Lady Bulldogs put the game on ice with another goal in the 80th minute.
The Lady Indians, who are currently in sixth place in the conference standings, will hit the road to Senatobia to take on another ranked opponent in the No. 6 Northwest.
The top seven teams in the conference will advance to the playoffs starting on Saturday, October 29 with locations and opponents still to be determined.
