FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College opens the 2026 women's tennis season with a mix of proven returners and new faces as the Indians build toward the heart of the conference slate.
ICC returns three sophomores who logged collegiate matches a year ago in Addi Joshlin, Ava Logan and Melina Vazquez, and adds three freshmen to round out the 2025-26 roster in Ava Moore, Agostina Pizarro Periales and Breanne Sparks.
Joshlin brings back experience in the middle of the lineup after going 6-3 in singles play as a freshman, primarily at the No. 5 spot, while also seeing time in doubles. Logan returns after gaining match experience at the No. 6 singles position. Vazquez also returns with significant court time, posting a 5-5 record in singles play, primarily at No. 3, while working through a heavy doubles load.
The newcomers will be a key part of how quickly ICC settles its lineup. Moore, from Caledonia, gives the Indians another in-state option as the team builds depth. Pizarro Periales joins the roster as an international addition, while Breanne Sparks, from Saltillo, adds another freshman piece that can impact both singles and doubles.
The roster structure puts an early emphasis on lineup development. With three returning players already familiar with the dual-match format, ICC will look to stabilize its singles ladder while building dependable doubles teams around that core. The freshman class will be key in determining depth, flexibility and how quickly the lineup settles into its best combinations.
ICC is scheduled to open the season Feb. 6 at UT Southern, followed by a match against Cumberland later that day at the same site. The following week includes an exhibition at Huntingdon College on Feb. 14 and a match against Coastal Alabama-South.
Conference play begins to take shape late in February with a road stretch at Meridian (Feb. 20), Hinds (Feb. 24) and Mississippi Gulf Coast (Feb. 27). March brings a busy slate that includes conference matches against Holmes (March 3), Southwest Mississippi (March 6), Northwest Mississippi (March 20), Copiah-Lincoln (March 24), East Central (March 27) and Jones (March 31), along with a nonconference match against Weatherford (March 7).
With a roster that blends returning experience and new additions, ICC's early weeks will be about finding the right pairings, building match toughness and carrying steady play into the MACCC schedule as it intensifies.
