The No. 24 Lady Indians fell on the road to No. 15 Gulf Coast on Friday.
PERKINSTON, Miss. – The No. 24 Lady Indians fell on the road to No. 15 Gulf Coast on Friday, 9-0.
In doubles action, Gulf Coast took early control by claiming all three courts. At No. 1, Agostina Pizarro and Melina Vazquez battled but dropped an 8-3 decision. Ava Logan and Addison Joshlin fell 8-0 at No. 2, while Ava Moore and Breanne Sparks were defeated 8-2 at No. 3.
In singles play, Pizarro was edged at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3. Vazquez dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 2, and Joshlin fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Sparks competed at No. 4 but came up short, 6-1, 6-1. Moore was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5, and Logan rounded out the match at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-2 result.
