No. 22 Lady Indians drop match against No. 19 Northwest
The No. 22 Lady Indians fell 8-1 to No. 19 Northwest at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Friday.
FULTON, Miss. – The No. 22 Lady Indians fell 8-1 to No. 19 Northwest at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Friday.
In doubles play, Northwest claimed all three courts to take an early 3-0 advantage. At No. 1, Agostina Pizarro and Melina Vazquez were defeated 8-5. The No. 2 duo of Ava Logan and Breanne Sparks fell 8-2, while Ava Moore and Addi Joshlin dropped an 8-0 decision at No. 3.
In singles action, ICC picked up its lone victory at No. 1 as Pizarro delivered a strong performance to earn the 6-2, 6-3 win.
Northwest controlled the remaining courts to seal the team victory. Vazquez fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, while Sparks dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 3. Joshlin was defeated 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4, and Logan fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5. At No. 6, Moore was edged 6-1, 6-1.
