FULTON, Miss. – The No. 22 Lady Indians dropped a 9-0 decision against No. 24 East Central on Friday.
In doubles play, the Warriors claimed all three courts to take an early advantage. At No. 1, Agostina Pizarro and Melina Vazquez fell 8-3. East Central followed with an 8-0 win at No. 2 over Breanne Sparks and Ava Logan. The No. 3 match went to East Central by default.
In singles play, Courts 1 and 2 went to East Central by walkover. Sparks faced a tough outing at No. 3, falling 6-0, 6-0. Logan pushed her opponent to three sets at No. 4, battling to a 7-5 win in the second set before falling in a match tiebreaker, 10-2. Moore dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 5, and the No. 6 match resulted in a walkover in favor of East Central.
No. 22 ICC will close the regular season on Tuesday, March 31, when they host No. 7 Jones at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts at 2 p.m.
